In our ongoing quest to find the local businesses that are pushing the envelope of building quality and beauty in Colorado, we visited Rocky Mountain Joinery Center in  Lafayette, CO.  We met with owners Hemi Mund  and Justin Wessel who gave us a tour of their expansive facility. Despite the incredulity on Annie’s face, we were very impressed. Look at those members! Look at those joints!  The beauty of what Rocky Mountain Joinery does is that it merges centuries of craft knowledge with the most cutting edge (no pun intended) digital fabrication technology and tools.

Tools like the Hundegger K2i CNC machine – the largest and most advance heavy timber CNC machine in North America.   We appreciate that the Rocky Mountain Joinery team brings best-in-class processes, tools, and talent from around the globe to the US building industry and, more importantly, to our back yard. It is not uncommon to hear a German accent at Rocky Mountain Joinery, which is definitely a good thing.
